The coffee morning which also included a raffle, cakes, books and handmade jewellery stalls, amongst others, proved a big hit with visitors to the hall.

The event was staged by the daughters of one the hall’s former stewards, Bob Simpson and his wife Christine, both of whom worked tirelessly for Fleetwood Masonic Hall for many years and who are remembered with great affection by the members of the hall.

Bob and Christine were looked after by Trinity Hospice and their daughters, Amanda, Gail and Samantha received great comfort and support from the medical, nursing and ancillary staff at Trinity.

Since Bob’s and Christine’s passing the Simpson girls have joined annually in the ‘Run for Life’ race to help raise funds for Trinity and they decided to hold the coffee morning in memory of their parents and to continue their support of the vital work which Trinity does for the community.
Some of the goodies go on sale
Lodges meeting at Fleetwood played their part by donating £415 to the day and on behalf of Mark and RAM lodges meeting at Fleetwood and Cleveleys Jimmy Rogers presented Amanda Simpson with a further cheque for £200.

The remainder came from the very hard work of the Simpson girls who were ably supported by friends and family.
The day gets underway
At the end of the event Amanda thanked Jimmy, hall Chairman Paul Dunne and hall secretary Peter Tebbs and his wife Carol who manned the coffee pots and everyone who had played a part in the day.
